With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, combined with our parent teacher meetings this week, I'm going to keep this post short and sweet!
We had such a fun and festive week together! We started our time together on Monday with a paper chain challenge...
Can you work together with a partner to create a patterned chain with 20 links?
They LOVED making these and didn't want to stop!
We learned a new number game to help us continue to build our confidence with subitizing (recognizing a group of objects at a glance) and one to one correspondence.
Our letter focus was B and we had so much fun creating a new BBBAKERY centre in our classroom. Our kindergarten bakery / coffee shop was seriously a hit...but I warn you, they're charging $400 per cookie.
We spent a lot of time talking about holiday traditions this week and shared how each of our families is celebrating this time of the year. We discovered that although many of us have similar traditions, each family also has many of their own unique traditions. The drawing and writing they did during this task is the best I've seen yet. I'm so proud!!
We took part in a special school-wide gratitude project! Every child in the school created a mitten and reflected on things they were grateful for.
On Thursday we created holiday number books which had us counting, drawing AND writing!
...and a few of our kiddos are still labelling with random letters (which is a totally awesome step in becoming a writer!)
I'll leave you with a few more fun photos from our week together...
Have a beautiful weekend! Can't wait to see all your sweet kiddos again on Tuesday! Mrs. Planden will be in on Monday next week :)
Love,
Miss Roberts
