We used our excellent observation skills to monitor the growth of our baby plants this week. The children looked VERY closely to try and see evidence of roots, stems and leaves. We learned that each plant part has an important job. Ask your child what the roots and stems do!
We learned about the TH letter combo this week and discovered that it makes 2 sounds...ask your child to tell you what they are. Our popcorn words are getting trickier! We focused on THIS, THAT and THEY this week. Extra practice with these words at home would be amazing.
The kiddos had NO PROBLEM coming up with reasons why they love their mom and were so excited about making these cards for you.
We started skipping in gym! My goodness it's cute to watch 5 year olds attempt to use a skipping rope. Zoom in for full appreciation of these pics :)
For math this week, we continued to focus on shapes and are beginning to discover that they are everywhere! Mrs. Planden introduced us to a new artist named Wayne Thibeaud and we had a lot of fun searching for 2D and 3D shapes in his work. We also continue to practice number formations as this seems like something our kiddos still need a bit of help with. Right now, we're focusing on printing numbers to 10 and working very hard to double check our numbers to ensure we haven't recorded them backwards. This would be a very easy thing to practice from home over the next couple of weeks!
I will miss your little ones a great deal over the next 2 weeks. Please keep me up to date on what you're up to and send me pictures of your adventures while at home. I'm here to support you if you need it!
I'll leave you with a few more fun photos of our week together.
Love,
Miss Roberts
