This week in kindergarten...
We learned about the letter H! Ask your child to show you our action for this letter sound.
We talked about what it means to be HHHEALTHY! We learned about many different kinds of foods and how they each affect our bodies in different ways. Children drew pictures of their favourite fruits and learned a fancy new artistic skill...shading!
We read stories about different kinds of homes this week and talked about what our own homes look like. Children had SO MUCH FUN attempting to create their homes using magnatiles. They used wooden people to represent each family member and were excited to tell me where each person's room was in the house. This was a very popular centre this week!
In math, we have moved from sorting objects based on a common attribute (size, shape, colour, etc.) into learning about patterns. Kinders LOOOVE patterns. They love looking for patterns and creating patterns. At home, feel free to jump on this natural excitement and curiosity about patterns and see what you can find and create within your homes! Patterns are an essential building block to understanding number and we are excited to develop a solid foundation of this concept ~Mrs. Planden
