The end of the year is fast approaching! Your little ones are savouring every moment of their time kindergarten and starting to get very excited about being in grade one next year.

Our weeks have been filled with outdoor play and exploration, daily monitoring of our growing plants, experiments to learn about how each plant part works and collaborating to create a beautiful kinderGARDEN (thanks Mrs. G 😁).

Ask your child what each plant part does! We've spent time learning about roots, stems, leaves, and flowers.

We've worked our way through the whole alphabet and have started talking about letter blends (SH/CH/TH). These are tricky to remember! Try pointing out letter blends when you see them on signs, in the grocery store or in stories you and your child read together.

Hope to see you all at the sharing assembly next Friday!

Miss Roberts :)

P.S. We have something VERY exciting happening over the next couple of weeks! EEEEEEP!!!!! Stay tuned!!!

The past couple of weeks have been filled with seed planting, watering and waiting! Our kiddos have been been so excited to care for their plants and keep them watered each and every day.

Now that many of our seeds have started to sprout, we've discovered that plants are made of many different parts. So far, we have spent time investigating the importance of roots, stems and leaves. Ask your child what each of these plant parts can do!

There's a lot of seed research and experimentation happening during centre time these days...

We looked very closely at our plants and drew diagrams to capture how our plants are progressing so far.

Mr. Hart was very excited to come in and teach us about planting potatoes. If we're lucky, we'll be sampling our very own potatoes before the year is out!

Caring for our plants inspired a conversation around what it means for something to be living vs non-living. We watched videos to research the difference and classified as many things as we could.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Miss Roberts :)
