 This week in kindergarten...

We spent time sharing about all the wonderful things we did over the long weekend. The children drew pictures to represent one part of their weekend, with a focus on adding detailed backgrounds. The following day, we wrote SENTENCES to accompany our drawings. Such incredible writing!! Not all of us are writing sentences just yet, but most are ready for this added challenge.

"I went to a market. I loved it. We buyed oranges and cherries and jam."

"I went on a grocery adventure with my dad."

"I went to the cabin with my family. We went down to the lake."

"I went to the gym. We played basketball. I saw Miss Roberts."

We learned about the letter L and drew pictures of things that begin with this letter.

We continued to learn about measurement with Mrs. Matthews. We are using the words “ shorter” and “ longer” when describing length and “heavier” and “lighter” when describing weight. We are also learning the difference between height and length. Some of us still need practice to correctly use the words longer/shorter and lighter/heavier. Try and use them around your house this week!

We have had 2 amazing sessions with our artist in residence, Jen Mahood. She is helping us to understand how we can explore everyday topics through movement and dance. We will see her on Tuesdays for the next 4 weeks.

Here are some photos from our centre and gym times this week...
