Our little kindergarten elves were hard at work this week! 

-We focused on the letter E. 

-We drew the most adorable elves and worked hard to label our drawings with letters and words. 

-We talked about the importance of family traditions. This would be a great thing to chat about with your child this weekend. Brainstorm all of the wonderful traditions that are special to your family at this time of the year :)

-We enjoyed some festive new centres!

 

Here’s a note from Mrs. Planden:

Your child came home with a pattern gallery on Monday! Students were asked to create 3 different pattern varieties, and were specifically asked to only show one AB pattern. After they created their patterns, we discussed the pattern that they created and the students were asked to represent it using letters. (ABC for pink purple yellow) and to identify the pattern core. 

Here are some questions you can ask your pattern rockstars!

1. Describe your pattern for me.

2. What would the next colour be?

3. What kind of pattern is it? Can you use letters to tell me? (Is it an AB pattern? An AAB pattern?)

4. What is the core of your pattern (the smallest part of the pattern that repeats)?
