 This week in kindergarten...

We focused on the letter E and drew pictures of things that begin with this letter. We learned that E is extra special because it is a vowel and makes 2 sounds!

We learned about the importance of EEEXERCISE and talked about all the ways we can move and play to keep our body healthy and strong. We learned a few artist tricks to help us draw people moving and doing interesting things.

On Thursday we learned a new number game called, Race to 20!

We played a very fun snowman relay game in gym.

Here's a note from Mrs. Planden about what the kiddos were up to on Monday:

This week, we practiced creating, describing and extending patterns and then applied our understanding to solve a word problem! We started with an example as a class, then acted out the problem using loose parts and math manipulatives before moving into independent word on a similar problem. Students created a diagram to assist them in solving the word problem.

To celebrate our final day at school before the winter break, children are invited to wear pyjamas to class on Thursday, Dec. 22. Bring your favourite stuffy too!

Here are some pictures of our centre time adventures from this week...

The pm class invited their buddies to come and play!

Thanks for a great week! One more to go! Have a wonderful weekend!
