Our time together this week was filled with explorations of remembrance and peace.

We connected our discussions about Remembrance Day to our letter learning of the week. This week's focus was R. Students were very interested in sharing what they know about Remembrance Day and were incredibly engaged in their artistic poppy representations using various materials around the classroom. Thank you so much to those of you who were able to join us for our school assembly today.

Our morning trip to the fire station was a huge success. We bundled up, enjoyed a glorious winter walk and learned about how firemen can help to keep us safe in an emergency.

Mrs. Seddon has continued to spark a passion for patterns this week. Make sure to check out her blog for details!

Classroom Information and Reminders

We have another exciting field trip coming up! On December 13, BOTH morning and afternoon students will be heading downtown to see Alberta Theatre Project's performance of Zorro. This is a very special, whole-school field trip! Please note, your child's school hours will be slightly modified for this day to accommodate both classes being at school at the same time. All students will attend on this day from 10:15 am - 1:30 pm. More details will be heading your way shortly but I wanted to give you some advanced warning of this change to your child's schedule.

We will require 3 morning and 3 afternoon volunteers to come along for the fun. If you're interested in joining us, please email me as soon as possible to let me know (taroberts@cbe.ab.ca).

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Roberts :)
